What to do in Cape Town while here for CMS Africa Summit 2019

If you are travelling to Cape Town to attend CMS Africa Summit 2019 from another province or country, you may as well spend a few extra days exploring South Africa’s Mother City.

Cape Town is host to some of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. Here are a few attractions in and around the city that you may want to visit while you are here;  

Table Mountain

Voted one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, this majestic mountain provides a 360-degree view of Cape Town from the top. If you purchase a full summit pass for CMS Africa Summit 2019, it includes a trip up Table Mountain!

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

This waterfront harbour mall spans 123 hectares and is host to a number of retail stores, dining and leisure experiences, as well as entertainment facilities. At the V&A Waterfront, you are also able to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium, the recently built Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa or catch a boat to Robben Island for a historic tour.

You can catch these red open top busses from the V&A Waterfront to take you to all the city’s biggest attractions with City Sightseeing South Africa.

Dancing in the Streets

CMS Africa Summit 2019 also takes place just in time for the annual Cape Town Carnival street party on 16 March in Greenpoint, Cape Town. Join this Mardi Gras celebration Cape Town style with floats, dancing, energy and positive vibes!

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

Take a stroll through the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden which is acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Situated on the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain, it provides grandeur views that are ideal for a relaxing picnic on its grassy slopes. Kirstenbosch Gardens also hosts it’s famous Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts in the Park,  free Guided Garden Tours as well as a number of other events.

Choose your Beach

Cape Town has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with most of South Africa ’s blue flag beaches situated in Cape Town, it would be a shame not to get some sun and sand time while you are here! The closest beaches to the Cape Town city centre include Queens Beach, Glen Beach, Big Bay Beach and Little Bay Beach.

With so much to do, including attending the CMS Africa Summit, it would be a missed opportunity not to come!
